Villa Spada Reach Out Award

Reach Out

All members of Villa Spada House are called to respond to the needs of others in our world denied their dignity. And so, each month we look to recognise someone in our House who has taken actions of note in the areas of helping an individual or a group beyond themselves: literally, they are someone who has been identified by teachers or peers for REACHING OUT to others.

Congratulations to Isabella who is Villa Spada's most recent Reach Out award recipient.

Comment from Isabella:

From the first house meeting I ever attended in year 7, I’ve always admired the spirit of Villa Spada and how it has always felt like more than just a house. I’m so pleased to have been nominated by the Year 7’s in my homeroom but to say I was shocked to actually receive the Reach Out award is an understatement.

We all know first-hand how daunting Year 7 can be and I was just trying to help them start their journey at Mount Alvernia College. Honestly, I just wanted to get to know the new members of our Homeroom a little bit better. But, I’m truly glad to be the first recipient of this award and it’s something I will never forget.

I’m so honoured to be in Villa Spada and would again like to thank the Year 7’s in my homeroom for this nomination, as well as Mrs Carney for picking me to receive this award.
