Curriculum Day with Michael Minas

All staff participated in the exploration of the Big Ideas in Numeracy supported by the work of Michael Minas. The Big Ideas in Numeracy are the links to the central parts of the Numeracy curriculum. They are the ideas, strategies and ways of thinking about a key aspect of maths.

Number sense, Place value, Multiplicative thinking and Fractional thinking are examples of the Big Ideas. The Big Ideas establishes a relational view of maths and a deeper understanding of numbers.

We are in discussion with Michael to return to our school to participate in sessions with parents and students.
