Captains Corner

Dear Parents,

Hopefully everyone has had a great first term and has learnt lots even though it is still the first term and we still have so much to learn. Even though this term is coming to an end there are still lots of things happening.

Congratulations to Medici for winning the St Marys twilight sports carnival!!! I’m sure that everyone had an amazing time because Han and I sure did. It was fantastic that everyone had a go at all the fun games. Everyone was cheering so loudly and encouraging each other which is what all of this is about. We would like to give a big thank you to Mr Luckman because without him none of this would of happened. We would also like to thank all the house captains for keeping everything organised and leading there house team. Thank you to all the parents that helped out in the canteen, we really appreciate it. We hope that everyone had an awesome night!

Thank you to everyone that brought a gold coin donation. All of the gold coins that we collected from crazy hair day will be going towards Bethlehem University in Israel, we will be sponsoring a palestinian student. Some of the teachers actually went and visited this university last year and they saw all of the hard work that the students put into their work.

On the 4th of April the year 3’s will be receiving the sacrament of Reconciliation at 7pm. We keep them in our prayers as they receive the sacrament of Reconciliation.

Congratulations to all of the preps. We can’t believe that you have all made it through a full term, don’t worry now you only have six years and three terms left. All of the wonderful preps have been brilliant and well behaved. We are all so proud of the preps for taking a big step in life and coming to primary school! Overall well done and keep up the good work.

On the last day of school the 5th of April we are going to be having the Easter raffle.

Next term the 5/6’s will be starting inter-school sports were they will be competing against other schools in the Northcote district and will do it every Friday for 8 weeks. We will be competing against Fairfield first and the sports that we do are football, soccer, netball and Newcombe ball.

Yay, school is almost over. This term will end on the 5th of April and the children will be dismissed at 1:30.  We hope that everyone has a fun holiday and that you all have a great Easter. To those who are traveling we hope you travel safe.

Term 2 starts on the 23rd of April. There is much to look forward next term and all the fun things that we will be doing.

Have a great week ahead,

Sincerely Olivia and Han

Premiers' Reading Challenge 2019

It has been wonderful to see so many students embrace the Premiers' Reading Challenge this year! All interested students have received a checklist appropriate to their grade level and are already enjoying the challenge of reading a range of new books. There are plenty of listed books available for borrowing from the school library and books from home can also be included on the reading list.

Happy holiday reading to all!
