The VCE Arts Exhibition
The VCE Arts exhibition was held in the Senior Learning Centre on Friday
14th of October. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to share the
fruits of their months of hard work with the school community. It was also a
chance for us to witness and admire the skill and commitment of students
completing a range of VCE Arts subjects.
The exhibition included works by students in Art, Visual Communication,
Ceramics, Glass and Photography. As a bonus, there were also a few pieces by
Food Technology, Metal and Media students.
Our special guest for the evening was Max Darby, an internationally
recognised artist and Arts educator. Max used his impressive collection of
sunglasses to remind us of all the many ways we can look at art. He was also
given the difficult job of judging and selecting a few specific works of art
for special recognition.
Congratulations to Ally Crowe, Caitlyn Grant, Michael Douch and Kirrilee
Broughton, who were awarded on the night. Stephanie Turner was awarded the
Narelle Baker award for her overall excellence in and commitment to
Ceramics. She will be officially given this award at Wanganui On Show
Media
Students in the Animation and Music Video class created a hand drawn animation where they were asked to transform a circle into something. We combined all there work to make one long, amazing animation. You can view it using the link above. Enjoy!
