Senior Years

Year 11 Business and Enterprise

Endeavour’s Excellent Entrepreneurs

Our Stage 1 Business and Enterprise class impressed the Endeavour community with their entrepreneurial skills in Week 11 of last term trading over three consecutive lunch times.

Their dedication and commitment were outstanding as they used the facilities at the College to provide a variety of products for their peers. Students are assessed in this practical task for their business planning, operation, marketing and service.

Enterprise Week is an exhausting but very worthwhile and engaging learning opportunity for the students. This activity promotes inclusivity, risk taking and develops their collaborative skills. The students involved are listed below.

To demonstrate the social responsibility of business and ethics, students donated half of their profits ($645) to Mission Endeavour. Mission Endeavour supports an orphanage in Indonesia, specifically their efforts to purchase a new motorcycle so they can transport their students to and from school. The Year 11 Business and Enterprise students excelled in all areas, showed initiative in problem-solving, took risks and embraced all challenges that came their way. We are extremely grateful for the support of parents and the entire Endeavour community for this event.

Business and Enterprise Week gave us an opportunity to go outside our comfort zones and experience what it would feel like to start and run a business from scratch.  Olivia

Enterprise Week gave me opportunities I never thought I would get. It was fun, challenging and hard work, but it was worth it.  Harrison

Enterprise Week was a great experience, allowing me to pursue my interest in business and marketing with fellow peers. Brandon

Through Business and Enterprise and the experience of Enterprise Week, I was able to gain a better knowledge of the regimes and structures that businesses grow on. The marketing techniques, planning and the legal structures behind business enabled an insight into the basis of standard enterprise growth. Blake

Australian Refugee Association Youth Ambassador Leadership Camp

As Year 10 students, we were presented with the opportunity to become Youth Ambassadors for the Australia Refugee Association (ARA). We attended a leadership camp that was aimed at developing our skills and knowledge about refugees. The camp was held between Wednesday  4 April and Friday 6 April at the Old Woodhouse Manor in Piccadilly. On this camp we were able to participate in many events including: Getting To Know You games, where we met the other youth ambassadors for 2018; a presentation about refugees to expand our knowledge; a session to build resilience; an opportunity to hear the stories of refugees who are now living in Australia as well as Challenge Hill, where we worked in teams to complete an obstacle course that went up and then back down a hill. We were also involved in a public speaking/leadership workshop and could choose two workshops out of Art, Dance, Drumming and Singing to attend. A Theatre workshop was offered on the final night of camp where representatives came in to show us a few theatre games and helped us to see how we could use them to build our leadership skills. Overall, it was a great experience which we both enjoyed and we look forward to the upcoming opportunities we will be presented with this year as Youth Ambassadors.
