NATIONAL COMPUTER SCIENCE SCHOOL CHALLENGE

The NCSS (National Computer Science School) Challenge started this week. The competition will run for five weeks with students across all year levels taking part. As with all the challenges, there are different levels and students are encouraged to step up a level if they completed the last Python challenge in April or the NCSS challenge last year.

The nice thing about this Challenge is that you don’t need to have any background knowledge. Grok Learning provides online lessons and the weekly challenges test your ability to apply what you have learned. You learn as you compete and there is online assistance available through tutors and forums.

Year 10 Information Systems students will be working on this Challenge as part of their coursework - whether it be at Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced Level. We are all ready to “Grok On!”

SCRATCH COMPETITION

Last reminder: Year 7 students to hand in their Scratch Fairy Tale or Nursery Rhyme project. Just submit your work in Stile and the IT teachers will judge the entries. We will be awarding two prizes for the best projects.
