Coronavirus Information for Parents

As you will be aware, schools are part of the community response to the Coronavirus outbreak. Information from the state Government is available online - https://www.education.tas.gov.au/2020/02/novel-coronavirus-update/ 

 

If you have travelled to China during the holidays or been in contact with someone who has or has potentially been exposed to the virus, please observe the 14 day quarantine period as advised.

 

Please remind your children to practice good hygiene. Good hygiene includes:

  • washing your hands often with soap and water
  • using a tissue and covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze (or doing so into your elbow)

Immunisations - (RETURN FORMS EVEN IF NOT RECEIVING VACCINE)

The Kingborough Council’s immunisation team will be providing vaccinations to year 7 and year 10 students this year.

 

The following vaccines will be provided to year 7:

Human papillomavirus (HPV) – two doses given 6 months apart

Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (whooping cough) dTpa – one dose

 

The following vaccines will be provided to year 10:

Meningococcal ACWY – one dose

 

Please complete and return all the consent forms (even if your child will not be receiving the vaccines) by Monday 10 February 2020.

 

If there are any families who require assistance filling out the consent forms, please research 26TEN (LINC) who provide translators and help to fill in forms. Their website address is http://26ten.tas.gov.au/about-26ten/Pages/default.aspx.
