Year 6 Camp to

Philip Island

Camp was Fantastic

We made pancakes at camp and it was an amazing experience, it was a fun activity and the pancakes tasted yummy. Mrs. Heldt was a great help. I had mine hot, straight off the BBQ with butter. Camp was a good opportunity to get along with students outside our friendship groups and it was a challenge getting along with everyone. It was an amazing experience overall. I can’t wait to have another opportunity. Dakota

The Wobbly platform

Camp was really exciting. All of the activities were great and I wanted to have a second go on all of the activities in my free time which actually never happened. The biggest challenge for me was doing the Initiative Course because getting everyone to listen to my strategy was a chore. We all had to stand on a wobbly platform and try to balance on it. It was difficult! The best part was having free time in our cabins where I got to know my friends more and hang out with them. We spoke so much the time seemed to go by very fast. Vanessa

The food was great!

I was looking forward to sleeping with my friends at camp. As we arrived I couldn’t wait to get my hands on my booklet to find out who was in my cabin. I enjoyed most of the activities however, the Giant Swing was my favourite. I also enjoyed the awesome food served at camp. My favourite meal was Chicken Snitzel and chips for dinner on day 3 (Thursday). I experienced lots of new experiences that I will probably never get to experience again. I also made some new friends and became closer to my friends as well.  Ross

The Bus Ride...

I couldn’t wait to get onto the bus to get to camp. The bus ride seemed so long. We finally reached San Remo and it was time for some morning tea! The weather was cold and freezing, we ran along and had lots of fun. Some of us just decided to go for a walk with Mr. Ru onto the Pier to spot some stingrays. We also enjoyed watching the feeding of the greedy and enormous pelicans. Some of them nearly knocked us over! When we finally reached Philip Island I just couldn’t believe it was all happening. We were so excited! We had been waiting for this moment for so long. Darnell

Recreation Room

On the 16th of July the adventure had finally started. Everyone was excited! It was a very cold morning and I could not wait to get onto the bus. Our first stop was morning tea at San Remo beach where we saw the pelicans being fed. The best part of camp for me was beating Mrs. Heldt and Mr. Hoare at the Mini Pool Table and Mr. Nguyen at Volleyball. I am glad that I had an opportunity to face my fear of heights by having a go on the twin flying fox and the giant swing. On the whole, Philip Island camp was a memorable experience. Achoul

Camp activities

I really enjoyed the activities at camp. Some of the activiites were the giant swing, flying fox and archery, just to name a few. I had a great time with my friends as we spent time together and at night we did fun activities. My best part was the disco party where we had a dance off. It was fun dancing with my friends. I also enjoyed watching a movie called “A Dog’s Purpose” the best part was watching the movie in our PJs. It was sad when camp was finally over but we had a fantastic time. I look forward to going on camp again. An

A maze and things

I really enjoyed spending time with my friends during camp. On the last day of camp we went to A Maze’n’ things. We got to do 4 activities such as mini golf, magic house, a maze and the scenic scenery where we had to jump off from a very high slide. It was fearful but I challenged myself. The mirror maze was awesome. It was scary and confusing because at every way I turned I saw myself. Eventually I made it out of the maze. Yvonne

Swim spa

Camp was good. I enjoyed most of the things we got to do at camp like swim spa and camp cooking to name a few. My highlight was that on day 3, Thursday, we got to watch a movie “A Dog’s Purpose” I enjoyed the experience because we got to see the movie in our sleeping bags with our friends. I took my pillow and teddy bear with me as well. I also liked the way we had a break and got to have hot chocolate and marshmallows half way through the movie. It was an awesome experience to share with my friends. I am looking forward to another camp with my friends. Felicity

More Camp memories

Jenga Block Queens

I had loads of fun at camp especially the disco and games night. For the disco we had glow sticks that Mr. Nguyen gave us and we had a dance off. I watched my friends dance and then moved to the games section to play some quiet games. My friends and I beat Mr. Ru at the Jenga blocks and we came to be known as the Jenga queens at camp. We also enjoyed the walk to the beach on Wednesday. It was cold and windy but we had a great time chasing after the waves. I actually got my shoes wet. I like camp and can’t wait to have another go! Estelle

Pancakes were yum!

All the activities on camp had their own unique experiences and fun it their own way.  I was looking forward to the camp cooking activity. Our whole group could not wait to see what we were going to do for camp cooking. I was particularly concerned that we were going to make curried pancakes according to Mrs. Heldt. I was a bit doubtful. Eventually when I got to mix the ingredients I realised it was just flour, eggs and milk. We made pancakes and got to eat them as well Yum! Brandon
