Dear Parents and Friends of

t Therese's,

'Rise Take Your Mat and Walk' - World Prayer Day

This Friday, March 6 is World Prayer Day. On this day all over the world, Christians will stop and pray. Each year a different country hosts the day. This year the World Day of Prayer Australia-wide project for 2020 is called Empowering Mothers of Children with a Disability and is hosted by Zimbabwe.

The following is a video of Zimbabwe that explains the context for this year's World Prayer Day.

All over the world, mothers fight for their children, especially those with disabilities. This Friday, let us think of them and pray that they may continue to receive God's strength to be all that they need to be for their families.

‘Blessed are the peacemakers,

for they will be called children of God.’ Matt 5:9

AMEN

Athletics Carnival - A News Report

Members of the Communication Team wrote the following article to share in this week's newsletter about the Athletics Day.

"On Thursday, February 27, St Therese's School went by bus to Casey Fields to participate in an Athletics Day. All the students had a terrific day competing and cheering for each other. Some highlights of the day included; Issac, Darcy, Stephanie, Susan and Cecilia making it into the finals for hurdles and other running events. Cecilia came first in the hurdles. Darcy came first in Discus and Issac in the Shot Put. We learned that it doesn't really matter who wins, what matters is participation and having fun.

All the Houses did a great job and the students worked together as a team to gain team points for MacKillop, Mercy and Lisieux. We will continue over the year to earn points for our House Teams.

Our newest students - the preps, also participated and had a great first athletics day. We look forward to 2021 when we have our next whole school Athletics Day." Written by Faith, Corban, Justin, Stephanie and Oliver

EASTER RAFFLE is coming

The Easter Raffle is on again. Don't forget to sell your tickets and return the money by Thursday 19th March.

On Friday, 13th March, children are invited to wear Free Dress and bring along an Easter Egg which will be used for our raffle. The raffle will be drawn on Monday 23rd March at the assembly at 3pm.

Harmony Day / Say No to Bullying

On Friday, March 20 we will hold our annual Harmony / Say No to Bullying Day. On this day, the children are invited to wear their national dress or alternatively, they can wear orange - the colour that is associated with standing up and saying no to bullying.

On the day, the children will participate in activities to learn about living in harmony and being strong citizens by saying no to bullying. An African Drumming group will also provide entertainment for the children on this day.
