They were given a design brief which they had to meet and have done so with great success. They showed off the different types of stitches that can be created by hand sewing and had some fun with their designs.

Year 8 Art

Our Year 8 artists have been exploring lots of different materials and techniques recently, with a particular focus on lino printing and stencilling.

They learnt how to use the equipment safely and effectively before developing their final artworks. It was a particularly tricky task as they had to think of the positive and negative space in the image and consider which areas needed to be removed and which areas will be kept in order for the stencil or lino print to succeed. I think these artists did a wonderful job of their final artworks and should be proud of their efforts.

Year 9 Project Runway:

Last week, as part of Project Runway, our young designers made their way to the fabric store to select and purchase fabric appropriate to their designs. They were set with the challenge of purchasing a fabric which met their design brief and budget. Students were dazzled by the variety of fabrics to choose from and made some fabulous selections. Now onto the process of producing garments and getting ready for the runway show!
