Around the School

HICSA LUNCH

On Wednesday May 9, HHS had the pleasure of sponsoring and catering for the Healesville Indigenous Community Services Association monthly lunch.

The lunch was attended by forty community members who play an important role in the  provision of services to indigenous people. Our students did an exceptional job and they were fantastic representatives for our school. They shopped for ingredients, set tables and then prepared and served a delicious lunch. Guests enjoyed baked potatoes with a range of toppings and cup cakes and honey joys for dessert.

Throughout the day, the girls involved in this experience demonstrated important skills related to teamwork, leadership and organisation. Kerry Davies supported the girls and she was a fabulous support.

Congratulations to  Teghan, Lill, Misty, Natalia, Lilly and Tamara- you were great ambassadors for our school!

MUSIC MEETS CRICKET

Many of you may not know that our music teacher Ms Amanda Morrison also plays sport. She plays cricket for Launching Place United Cricket Club and is captain of the women’s team. Amanda had a great season last summer and in April she was awarded a prestigious award from Cricket Victoria at the Women’s Community Cricket Competition awards night. She was entered into the ‘Team of the Season’ based on her achievements in the 2017/18 season. Amanda’s one day batting average was an unbelievable 258. She opened the bowling and bowled 74 overs taking 21 wickets for 201 runs at an average of 9.57.

If any girls/ladies are interested in playing cricket next season please contact Ms Morrison at school or Leah Parker on 0411417253 or email leahandstuart@hotmail.com

We welcome any new ladies/girls to join our team. No experience needed!
