ELC and EAL news

New students

Last week, Ms Xanthopoulos took us for a walk to Mentone beach and we learnt about Australian trees and bushes. We saw the waves and learnt that we should not swim unless there are two flags, yellow and red. We also had a running race. Alice and Chan came first. I came third but Ms Xanthopoulos and the others were very slow.

Bridging – The Garden Project

The garden is underway. Today the students roped off the area and started digging. It took twenty minutes to dig a hole for the tree they wish to plant. However, now that they have learnt how to wear gardening gloves and hold a spade properly, their progress will increase. Several of the students were excited to find worms in the ground, and they realised that even though the ground is fairly hard, it must be quite healthy. A huge thank you to Tammy, our gardener, for her advice.
