St. Peter’s Discovery Evening
Last week we have had the wonderful opportunity to welcome new families to our College community on our College Discovery Night. Prospective parents and their students were welcomed to the College and its mission of Faith, Education and Service and given an overview of our diverse curricular and co-curricular offerings. Parents were offered an opportunity to hear from our College Staff and Student Leaders and partake in a tour of the College. Along the tour, students and parents participated in interactive presentations in each learning area, led by our Coaches and student helpers. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their learning and to demonstrate leadership in their community. I would like to thank all staff and students for their support of what was a very positive evening.
Student Learning Progress
This week the College will send our new Learning Behaviour Reports via SPACE. These will replace the previous Interim Report. The Curriculum Executive team have reviewed our reporting process and have created a new and improved format which allows for a more descriptive and detailed picture of your child’s approach to schooling. We are focussed on core elements that create a positive learning environment for your child and for their peers.
Learning Behaviour Reports reflect our whole school approach to positive behaviour support core principles - R.O.C.K.S.

In the first week of Term 2, parents will have the opportunity to discuss their student’s learning progress with their teacher in Student Learning Conferences. The change of name reflects an emphasis on the importance of the student in the discussion of learning. These meetings offer a chance for parents, students and teachers to discuss what has been achieved so far in learning, and the opportunities to maximise learning progress throughout the year. As such, we would like to encourage all students to attend these meetings with their parents.
This year the Student Learning Conferences will be offered via Zoom and in person:
- In-person Conferences - Tuesday, 20 April 2021 (2.30 pm to 8.30 pm).
- Zoom Conferences - Each teacher has also made themselves available for online conferences on one additional afternoon either Monday, 19 April 2021, Wednesday, 21 April 2021 or Thursday, 22 April 2021 from 3.30pm – 5.30pm via Zoom.
Details of how to access reports and book conferences will be sent to parents via email.
