Chaplain's Corner

Ms Tammy Bija | Monday and Friday

Hello MPS Family

It was great to see so many at the first assembly for 2021 held on Friday.  Thank you to all the Parents and Carers who consistently encourage me in my role.  It is a privilege and I am enjoying some of the great programs that I get to be involved in through 2021.

Sonshine FM "Free Coffee Friday"

I know this has been mentioned but I am SO excited and a little nervous that this Friday I get to speak on the radio to thousands of people about our amazing school.  You are all very welcome to come along from 8am as there will be a live broadcast and free coffee for adults.

Chaplain Lunch time Monday

As many of you would be aware the library is open every lunch time but on Mondays I organise a few different activities for the students.  This term we have made friendship bracelets, completed some papercraft, had an outdoor game session and this week we did chalk drawing. It is great to see the students joining in and supporting each other.

What is a Chaplain?

It is my role to support students, staff and family members of our community to provide social, emotional and mental health support along side the Student Services team. I am there to listen, and provide a supportive place to talk, pastoral care and programs based on respect, compassion and service within the context of Marangaroo Primary School community needs to held each person care, learn and thrive!  It is a privilege.

What is my role at MPS?

To be available across the School for staff, students and family members.  That may occur through in-class support, attend events like assembly, open night, sports carnivals and other Community events.  Support the Kids Who Care program for peer support in the playground.  Be aware and support the social issues of the community and provide programs, one on one support and information as required.  To stay current on all matters surrounding mental health and wellbeing and support services available to families.

I am here for you, my door is open and if I don't know the answer I will know where to direct you to the appropriate service.  I look forward to seeing you across the term.

Have a great week!
