Swimming Carnival

The swimming carnival started off great this year, as students joined in the races and many of the fun novelty events – such as the dunk tank, pool noodle race, basketball, and more. However, the first race was quite interesting. While in the race, one of the swimmers, Chae Conte, lost his googles, which fell down his face while swimming. And guess what? He still managed to win! Well done to all students who participated and supported the day by getting involved! Also a big thank you to our teachers and staff at LIHS for running events like this for our school.

Harbour Centre News

Here in the Harbour Centre, we would like to welcome our new Year 7 students and their families to Lake Illawarra High School. My name is Caitlin and I have enjoyed my first few weeks at high school. My favourite time so far has been meeting Benson, our assistant dog. Mr Olender showed us Benson’s tricks and how he works in the classroom.

Trinity's Travel

Kangaroo Valley

Location: Kangaroo River arm of Lake Yarrunga in NSW.

About: Kangaroo Valley has a large lake to go kayaking and fishing and is full of wildlife, such as kangaroos and wombats. Be careful of the snakes, though. From Warilla it takes about 50 - 60 minutes to get to Kangaroo Valley. It is very hot in the summer, but luckily there is a local pool as well as the lake.

There is also the most beautiful town in Kangaroo Valley, with a restaurant and a wonderful lolly shop and ice cream shop.
