15F Team: There will be a bus for the 15F team, who are travelling to Chevalier College this Saturday. All students who need a lift must see Mr Brannan.
Well done to all of the teams who walked away with a win on Saturday. It was a tough round for most of our teams and wins were hard to come by. The Open D team had another good win. Will Stanley once again lead the way with some solid play.
Mr Neil Gibson - Basketball Convenor
NSTA Tennis
Unfortunately, last weekend all games were washed out. This was disappointing as it is such a short season. Let’s hope for better weather this coming weekend.
Please make sure that you are checking the draw each week to see where you are playing but also to check that your scores from the previous week have been entered correctly. You can access this information on Xpoint.

March 5 Public Speaking Round 1
March 12 Public Speaking Zone Finals
March 19 Public Speaking Grand Final
Every school in the CSDA competition is allowed to register two students only from each year group and the following students have put their forms in so we have our limit for public speaking. Training will commence this week. Could the following students come to B10 this Thursday at lunchtime for our first meeting--bring your lunch.
Year 7: James Kevric; Regan Yun.
Year 8: Robert Oner; Anthony Parissis; Ethan Auer
Year 9: James Leo; Michael Krizan; Jose Monk
Year 10: (two students from younger years will need to debate as Year 10’s)

Year 12: Joshua Jones; James Baldock.
CSDA Debating Competition
The above debating competition runs through Term 2 on the following evenings. YELLOW CSDA Debating ONLY Registration forms will be available from the student office from Monday 15th February (Week 4).
The 2021 Debating season kicks off this term with:
Week 7 – training Friday 12th March 3.30 pm - 5.30 pm
Week 8 – training Friday 19th March 3.30 pm - 5.30 pm
Week 9 – training & pre-season ‘Friendly’ Debates (to be confirmed) 3.30 pm - 6.00 pm
Week 10 – training & pre-season ‘Friendly’ Debates (to be confirmed) 3.30 pm
The CSDA Competition commences in Term 2. See the following dates.
If you want to be a part of the terrific St Pius X College debating community it is essential that you attend ALL of the first six rounds. If your team makes it through to the Elimination round (and beyond) you also need to keep the above dates free.
Our senior students act as coaches/supporters for our junior teams. We are also lucky enough to have ex-students to work with the junior teams as the younger students really enjoy contact with our ex-debating “champions”.
The fee for the CSDA extra-curricular activity is $150.00 which will be included in your Term Two school fees. We keep our fees as low as possible and have funding from the St Pius X College P & F to subsidise the costs of running debating at SPX.
