SRC Student Executives - Student Engagement

Over the past year, students at Brunswick have experienced isolation from friends and the community, so this year's Harmony Day was an event which brought everyone together to celebrate the cultural diversity at our school.

The events that ran included the traditional, orange-themed casual clothes day and lunchtime activities - such as international films playing in the auditorium and a chopstick-wielding competition organised by the Chinese language learning area.  The Chamber Voices choir wandered throughout the schoolyard performing a beautiful rendition of Take me Home and the SRC house captains also ran a European handball tournament - congratulations to Oro on the win!

The SRC also nominated Harmony Day as a casual clothes day and invited students to contribute a gold coin donation to the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.  On  behalf of the student body, the SRC was able to donate $643.80 to this cause, and we thank the students for extending their generous support to the ASRC.

Overall, Harmony Day was a lovely opportunity to see everyone together again, celebrating BSC's diverse community.
