Year 7 Art

Learning their Lines

Line Exercise

Rebecca Rowe

Teacher - Art

In Art class we began the year with something nice and simple – lines!

Our Year 7 students explored the complex and simple ways that the art element of ‘line’ can be used to create amazing works of art.  Students in 7W, 7K and 7C then combined their efforts to create an installation of Line Rivers in the foyer outside the art rooms.

The results were very impressive and generated a great deal of interest from students and staff alike!

Year 7

In Art this term we also looked at the proportions of the face and learned how to draw them. We also discovered how to create tone through the use of a stippling effect, cross hatching and blending. In the end, we had to choose a famous person or someone we know, and draw them in black and white. We chose what technique we wanted to use and drew them! I chose Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man)!

These accompanying images are "works in progress"!
