Endeavour House News

The girls are well and truly into the routine of Endeavour. New and returning girls have begun to get to know each other and are starting to spend more time together. I find the connections between year groups take quite a while as the girls grow in confidence and settle into the rhythm of life in boarding.

Year Seven Dinner & Camp

It was lovely to see your girls heading off on camp in Week Four. The Year Seven girls and I went out for pizza at Due South on the Monday while the other girls were away, it was a great evening. I will take the Year Eight and Nine groups out for pizza towards the end of term. We try to go out for a meal once a term, this is an outing that is enjoyed by everyone and a chance to get dressed up and share some fun.

Morning Meetings

Did you know we meet every morning at 8.20am to check everyone is ready for school and give any messages for the day ahead? This is also a chance for girls to add items to the discussion on things that might be on their mind. Sometimes we discuss appropriate phone usage, not using banter to put people down, hygiene and healthy choices. We find this quick chat is effective as it is short and sharp. We then meet at 5.50pm to gather for our 6.00pm dinner. This is a great time for a catch up too and we give reminders for the day ahead, so the girls know what is coming up.

REACH

The girls have been doing a great job of getting REACH requests completed by Thursday night so I can approve these. We also encourage them to accept or decline recreation on offer by Thursday as a way of us having a better idea of numbers for planning.

School Photos

We survived school photos last week with only a few last minute (and I mean last minute) trips to the uniform shop. This year we had a whole of boarding photo taken and students in Day School were involved in individual, sport and homeroom photos.  We took the opportunity on Friday while the girls were all in their presentation uniform to take a photo out the front of Endeavour.

Sickness

We have had a few girls with sore throats and coughs that required COVID tests and they went home until they received a negative test result, we appreciate your support in following these COVID protocols.

Birthdays

This term we have celebrated a few birthdays. McKayla Ettridge celebrated her birthday before her arrival to boarding on 4 January and Amber Pearce was on 29 January, Keira was in February on Valentine’s Day and celebrated with her friends and family. Xanthe O'Neill and Amy Medway celebrated their birthdays in March to round off the Endeavour birthdays for the term. Happy birthday girls!
