Year 7 Reflection Day

Last Friday our Year 7 students enjoyed their Reflection Day experience with ‘Just Motivation’, led by Guest Presenter Az Hamilton. Az has an incredible ability to connect with young people through stories and personal experiences spent both overseas and within Australian communities. His message inspired our students to live a life worth getting excited about through his program entitled ‘Connections’. Year 7 journeyed through the program; discovering more about themselves, their relationships with members of their year group, and their relationship with God.

Project Compassion “Be More”

We have heard some of the 2021 Project Compassion Stories at Assembly and through Homegroup Prayer. Currently our Homegroups have raised a total of $719.80 in two weeks. What a community! Another way that we can live out our Lenten promise is to donate to our Easter Raffle. See more information below.

Easter Raffle

At Mater Dei, we run a number of Lenten Projects in which students and their families have the opportunity to donate to those less fortunate in our Wagga Wagga community and around the world. Each year we run an Easter Raffle to support St Vincent de Paul’s Initiatives in Wagga Wagga. This year, all the proceeds of our Raffle will go to Vinnies Micah House.

We encourage each student to support the Raffle by donating an item of Easter Confectionery, Gift Bags or Baskets to build the prizes. We encourage everyone to get behind this cause and contribute an item in the coming weeks.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) will be leading the raffle and tickets will be sent out to families to sell for $1.00 each, please record your name and contact details on the tickets. Once sold, please return these to the College Office. Students are encouraged to bring their donations into school and pass these onto their Homegroup Teacher. Thank you for your support!

Parish Youth Mass - Sunday, 21 March at 10.00am

Our Mater Dei Catholic College has a strong connection to our local Parish, Sacred Heart Kooringal. Parish Youth Masses have a strong tradition on student-led liturgical celebrations and this is a gift that they share with the parish in an aim to build connection and community.

Students, guided by our student leadership team, lead the liturgy with the Mater Dei Primary School and Sacred Heart Primary School communities. There is one Youth Mass each term. We welcome everyone to join us for our first Youth Mass on Sunday 21 March at Sacred Heart Church.
