Chaplain's Corner 

It has been a great start to my 1st term at BPS. I have met so many wonderful students and staff who have all contributed to making me feel very welcome. 

As the long-term Chaplain at Willetton Senior High School, I have been very keen to support Year 6 teachers in preparing their students for high school. This can be a very challenging time and cause many students to feel some anxiety. To reduce this, I will be running High School Transition Workshops in classrooms including visits from key WSHS staff to explain their role to students. Our first transition activity was a visit from Nathan Harvey (WSHS - Head of Languages) and his team of Italian exchange teachers. The Year 6 Italian classes enjoyed hearing about life in Italy. I was pleasantly surprised at the student's ability to translate Italian into English. Hopefully, this exchange will enable positive transitions into languages for Year 7 next year.
