SWAG - Science and Agriculture

Greetings, science and agriculture enthusiasts! 

We explore the wonders of science with Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 students and we celebrate the remarkable efforts of our Year 9 students in tending to our beloved livestock. We also eagerly anticipate the upcoming harvest of our vibrant vegetable crops. From Earth's structure to chemical changes, body investigation to atoms and formulas, our students are immersed in captivating discoveries. Let's dive into their highlights! 

🌍 Year 7: Earth's Structure and Minerals 🌳 

Year 7 students delved into the Earth's depths, discovering its layers and minerals. With engaging activities and experiments, they explored rocks, identified minerals, and crafted crystals. This captivating journey fostered appreciation and a commitment to preserve and sustainably utilise our precious planet.  

⚗️ Year 8: Physical and Chemical Changes 💥 

Year 8 students immersed themselves in the world of physical and chemical changes, conducting experiments and engaging in discussions. They discerned between physical and chemical transformations, enhancing their observation and analysis skills. These insights empowered them to make informed decisions and recognise the significance of chemistry in their everyday lives.  

⚛️ Year 10: Atoms and Chemical Formulas 🧪

Year 10 students delved into the world of atoms and chemical formulas. Through interactive lessons, experiments, and model building, they explored atomic structure, electron configurations, and the periodic table. Their proficiency in writing formulas and equations equips them for future scientific pursuits and builds a strong foundation for advanced studies. 

🐑 Year 9: Ensuring Sheep Health and Wellbeing 

Year 9 students actively care for our sheep, conducting comprehensive health checks. They assess teeth, feet, and fleece with meticulous attention to detail, promoting the well-being of our flock. Through these husbandry skills and compassionate dedication, our students ensure our sheep's optimal health and welfare. 

🌱 Thriving Vegetable Crops Await Harvest 🌽🥕 

Anticipation grows as students await the abundant harvest of their cultivated vegetable crops. They have diligently prepared the soil, sowed seeds, and practiced essential agricultural techniques. Through patience and dedication, they nurture a diverse range of vegetables, eager to savour the flavours and share the rewards with their school community. 

At our school, we strive to foster a deep appreciation for science and agriculture and the rewards it brings. Through hands-on experiences and practical lessons, our students develop valuable skills.
