Year 7 – War on Waste
7N and 7W have been working on a passion project with Mrs Suters, where they research an environmental issue of their choice and present a solution. The presentations have developed students' use of persuasive language and have produced some fantastic work!

Creative Writing Club
Mrs Sinclair has been working hard with our budding authors to refine and edit their work. Below is a piece from year 12 student Harrison M.
Emission
Flowers wilted
Air unfiltered
Health plans gone askew and tilted
Gas just billows
Smoke filled pillows
People hiding in shells like armadillos
No advancing tech
World’s a wreck
But government keeps society in check
Population decrease
But still, companies won’t cease
Unleashing the deadly planet-ending beast
Unending blindness
No-one can find us
All that remains is cold unkindness
The world is warming
Temperature forming
Yet people still stay under their spell, conforming
Greenhouse gases
In lethal masses
They didn’t stop and kiss their grasses
Goodbye.
If you are interested in joining, Creative Writing Club meets at lunchtime (second break) every Friday in H.10!
Year 12 English
In preparation for their trials, Ms Bendeich’s Standard English class have been working together to improve the quality of their written responses. They have worked in pairs and small groups, with a focus on word choice and sustained analysis to create a series of exemplar paragraphs.
Macbeth Excursion
10L1 and 10R1 attended a production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth as part of their upcoming study next term. They visited the Seymour Centre and experienced an engaging interpretation of the play set in post-war Britain.
