From the Principal
Term 2 has certainly been a busy one for Camden High School and has absolutely flown past.
Having experienced my first Camden / Cowra exchange, I know I speak on behalf of everyone involved when I say what a fantastic few days it was.
So often in modern education we are looking to change, adapt and innovate, and while we should always be looking to prepare our young people for the world of the future, the annual Camden / Cowra exchange is a great reminder of how important it is to also respect our past. This is a tradition that has endured for over 50 years, and it is indeed a connection that is very special.
Both schools should be congratulated on their fierce competition and rivalry, but also on the great displays of skill and sportsmanship across all sports and competitions over the three days. From our immaculate uniform on the fields, through to the cheering and support on the sidelines, the Camden High School spirit and pride was certainly on display.
A big thank you needs to go to all staff from both schools who were involved in the organisation. Events like the Camden / Cowra exchange don’t just happen. They take an enormous amount of preparation and organisation on top of all of the things that happen in a regular day at school. The efforts of staff in running a smooth event are truly appreciated.
A special thank you to the Cowra High School community and the billeting staff and families for their hospitality in hosting us. We are already looking forward to your visit in 2024.
Congratulations to all students involved in a comprehensive victory and retaining the Robert Montgomery Shield.
As we publish this newsletter, Year 12 students have commenced their Trial HSC examinations.
Trial exams are an essential part of preparing for the HSC exams. Students are able to experience what the real exams will be like, practice their time management skills in exam conditions, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and receive valuable feedback on their performance.
I know that our students have prepared diligently, and we wish them the best of luck.
