Grade 4 and 5 Auslan students having been learning all about ‘Classroom’ and ‘Playground’ signs. They have been practising new vocabulary through a variety of games including ‘Match my Board’. This involved students signing different classroom items (expressive language) to their partner, as well as watching their partner sign their information (receptive language) to try and match each other’s pictures. 

Students also created their own ‘Playgrounds’ which they labelled using the corresponding Auslan signs. Students got very creative with this activity, by drawing flying foxes over lava pits and slides which led to underground caves. Check out some of their designs.
