A Word From Leadership

The end of another term!

It’s been a big term at Good Shepherd! This Friday brings Term 2 of 2023 to a close for students. We are back to firing on all cylinders, after a few years of interruptions and restrictions. Students have been actively collaborating, parents are loving being back on site and excursions and camps are again an important part of student learning.

The community that we have here is a special one. Throughout much change (Principal, teachers, families) our core values of Love, Optimism and Creativity have been unwavering. Our focus of sharing the Good News of Jesus is still central to who we are and informs our decision-making on a daily basis.

Evie will be taking a time of scheduled Long Service Leave to begin Term 3. The first five weeks of the term will be a time for her to relax, refresh and have fun with friends and family. We wish her all the best for this time of rejuvenation!

Have a fantastic term break!

Term 3

We will begin Term 3 on Monday 24 July with school Worship. The whole school community is welcome to join us in the church for an 8.50am start.

Staff farewells

Mrs. Katherine Anderson has accepted a Literacy Leader position at St. David’s Parish School, beginning in Term 3. Whilst we know that this is a great opportunity for Katherine, we will be sad to see her go, as she has created great relationships with staff, students and families! Mrs. Christie Corbett has been appointed into the classroom teacher role, of what will now be known as 3Corbett (3C).

Mrs. Kahlia Feuerreiter has accepted a position in the library at Scotch College, beginning next term. Again, an opportunity for Kahlia, but sad for us! We thank her for the diligent work that she has contributed to Good Shepherd in the areas of Work Health Safety and Compliance. Kahlia will still be connected to the school as a parent.

Both staff members will be farewelled tomorrow, at the conclusion of school Worship.

Acknowledging school values

The students who were acknowledged by Ms. Armitage at assembly this week, for fantastic demonstration the school values of Love, Optimism and Creativity were:

Jonathon, Preston and Adam (absent).

Office hours (student-free week)

Please note that next week, the front office will only be open on Wednesday 5 July.

NAIDOC Week

This year NAIDOC Week occurs during our student's school holidays. Please watch the video below for an overview of the 2023 theme: For Our Elders

Elders are a critical part of all of our communities, no matter what our background. We value their contributions, passion and commitment to the younger generations. May our First Nations elders continue to pass down the ways of the world's oldest continuing living culture, and may we be open to learn from them.
