Term 2 Week 10
Melbourne Camp
Last weeks Melbourne Camp was enjoyed by all the children. Visiting Parliament House was obviously an important part of the trip as we have been learning about politics in class. The other activities, Eureka Skydeck, The State Library, Victoria Market, and ArtVo proved to be big hits and very entertaining. Going out for dinner at a restaurant in Southgate was a nice experience and enjoyed by all. The children had fun experiencing public transport travelling around Melbourne to get to and from each place. Thanks to Kris Suffield and Bec Gathercole for giving up their time for two days, to help make it a great experience for the kids. Also thanks to Renee for organising and booking all the activities.
Fruit Fly Circus on Monday
On Monday all of our students travelled to Whitfield to see some secondary students from the Fruit Fly Circus talk about and demonstrate what they do and learn in the fruit fly circus. They did a performance about the 'weirdest kid in the world'. This was about how he lost his imagination because he was always online and on technology.
Reports
The reports will be sent home tomorrow. Please read these reports and talk with your children about the results . Hopefully there isn’t any surprises about how your child is going. Next term students will be presenting their future learning goals to their parents in parent / teacher interviews for the second semester. Part of the goals for the children will contain how parents and teachers can support the children’s learning. These will happen early in Term 3.
Jobs around the school
A letter will be sent home today with a list of little jobs which need to be done around the school. These can be done over the holidays or weekends when it suits. If everyone can pick one or a couple of jobs that would be fantastic. We thought this would be easier than a working bee at the moment where we are all required to be here at the same time. I will put this list up on the front door of the office building over the holidays and just cross off what you have done and initial. Thank you with your help with this.
Last Day of School for Term 2
Tomorrow is the last day of Term 2. It will be a 2:30pm finish. Buses will run as normal picking up from 2:30pm. The mid year break is a chance to refresh the batteries and enjoy a few sleep ins all ready for Term 3.
