Cross Country

On Wednesday 30th of May, 17 students set off to represent Coburg HS in the Moreland Division Cross Country Championships. Students were treated to a spectacular day with perfect weather conditions for running. Team spirit was high with all students trekking back and forth across Princes Park multiple times to cheer on their teammates. Everyone who competed should be very proud of their efforts, especially those who have progressed to the next round:

  • Aimee  (9th)
  • The 12/13 boys team (1st in the team competition)
    • Noah (8th individually)
    • Toby
    • Oliver
    • Elliot
    • Hady
  • Will (1st)
  • Liam (2nd)
  • Ozen (9th)

Will and Liam came 1st and 2nd in the same age group - and did so by an impressive margin over the rest of the field! Well done.

A personal thank you to all students for their great behaviour, it made for a really enjoyable day. To Spud, Archie and Angus - your leadership and assistance was greatly appreciated, thank you.

Inter-school Soccer Report

On June 21, the year 8 boys A and B soccer teams played at John Fawkner High School in Inter-school Sports.  Both teams started the fixture against their rivals, John Fawkner High School. Team A put up a fight but went down 4-nil; however, the coaches argue that the score did not reflect the hard work of the players.  Team B also worked well together but also lost 1-nil.

Team A then faced Al Siraat, Illim College and the Australian International Academy of Education and put together a 3 match winning streak with respective scores of 3-nil, 1-nil and 6-nil.  Ayaan, Zach and Oscar stood out amongst a team of awesome competitors.

Team B also put up a fight against their opponents but finished the day without a win.  Jacob, Broden and Ruben all stood among the team of workhorses.

The coaching team of Dami, Chris, Nabil and Ryan congratulate all players on their hard work, focus, drive and sportsmanship.

Big thanks to Paul and Dom for their support.
