Year 9 and 10 Music Concert - Tuesday 19th June 2018
Wakakirri Careers Day
On Monday the 28th of May 19 students attended a careers day run by Wakakirri. Students listened to an insightful discussion with panel members Alex Papps, Michala Banas and Josh Horner about what it takes to build a career in the performing arts. Our students asked great questions, and some volunteered to perform in front of the audience. An excellent day out!
Sydney Dance Company
The year 10 Dance class was lucky to see a full length dance work by the incredible Sydney Dance Company this term called Ab - Intra (from within). Students were inspired by the intricate choreography and athleticism of the dancers, and used this to inspire their own choreography.
Dance and Drama Performance Night
Congratulations to all year 9 and 10 students who performed during week 8 as a part of their assessment in Dance and Drama this semester. Some very impressive work was presented including a futuristic play by the year 10 Production class, a Greek Theatre script by the year 9 Drama class, and original choreography exploring themes of belonging by the year 10 Dance class. Students performed with excellent focus, and the evening was enjoyed by the audience, well done!
Children's Theatre Performance By Ally
On Friday the 15 of June, Luke’s Production class performed a play called ‘Simply Cinderella’ to grades 1&2 from Coburg Primary School. The performers worked really hard to memorise their lines, using expression and performing on the day. The stage crew team worked hard building the props and figuring out our beautiful costumes. Millzy and Jesper worked hard learning how to use the lights and sound system. The whole production was done by this class but we could not have done it without Luke and Sarah helping us along the way. The overall performance was amazing and the kids really enjoyed it. After we performed the amazing play we did a fashion show and played some games with them, at the end they had some questions for us, and then we said our final goodbyes.
