A Message from School Council

School President’s Report

Hello Everyone,

Just a short update on what has been happening at School Council over the course of the year.  Even though we have only been able to meet face to face once this year and battling the challenges of Webex, there has been plenty going on.

During Term 2 the focus was on finding a new school principal. After many hours of reading resumes and interviewing candidates, the selection panel was very pleased that our own David King was the right person to lead our school into the future.

Our sub-committees have been very busy as well. The Buildings and Grounds committee have been working hard on improving our schoolyard during the lockdown period.  You may have seen photos of the shade sail for new playground, the games painted on the asphalt areas and the new bike racks.  All great improvements for our school. The next big project is an upgrade of the toilets. This will be an expensive exercise and we have applied for a Government grant to help us with this project.

Our Parents and Friends committee have also been busy organising many events. Unfortunately, most of these have had to be delayed until next year when hopefully things return to normal. They are busy planning for a big 2021.

All our subcommittees are open to the school community.  If you would like join or find out more about them, please feel free to reach out to David or myself.

Finally, I would like to encourage families to complete the Parent Opinion Survey. This survey provides important information to help drive continuous improvement for our school community. The survey is due on the 13th of November.
