Excellence and opportunity begin here

A great start

Welcome to our first newsletter for 2023!

We have had a wonderful start to the year and our students have settled in well. I have been especially impressed with the way in which Year 7 have settled in and I extend a warm welcome to all the new families in our Cecil Hills High School community.

As with all of our staff, I look forward to sharing a positive and productive partnership with you in your child’s learning and development.

HSC Success

In our last newsletter, we celebrated some of the great successes from the Class of 2022. I am very pleased that we have received some more fantastic news with another outstanding result.

Congratulations to Anabelle Su for achieving an ATAR of 96.4!

Like all of the students mentioned last term, Annabel thoroughly deserved this success due to her hard work, positive attitude, resilience and ability to work with her teachers.

It is comforting to know that we have so many fine graduates who will be the next generation of leaders in our community!

Strategic Improvement Plan

We began the year with two School Development Days where our teaching staff were able to focus on planning for the continued implementation of the initiatives in our Strategic Improvement Plan. This plan will drive the future direction of the school to ensure that we maintain our focus on Student Growth and Attainment, Professional Practice and Expertise and Community Engagement and Wellbeing. Our success in achieving the targets set out in this plan will ensure that your children continue to receive the highest quality education that Cecil Hills High School is known and respected for.

Parent Information Session

Our next Parent Information Session will take place on Monday 6 March at 6:30 pm on Zoom. Details will be sent to all parents prior to the meeting. We would love to see as many parents as possible in this meeting, especially our new Year 7 parents.

Following the Parent Information Session, the P&C will be holding their Annual General Meeting.  Any parents who would like to be involved are welcome to remain in the meeting to nominate and vote on the P&C Executive for 2023.
