Principal's Message

The Term is now underway and we have kicked off the year with a lot of 'newness'. We have welcomed new staff and a larger than usual number of new students to Ben Venue PS. Many students started in their new classes with brand new carpet and new Aboriginal design floor rugs. An increasing number of students are now wearing our new student designed Aboriginal shirt on Fridays, and in Week 3 we began starting our days with an Acknowledgement of Country, delivered by students over our new speaker system. Our hall floor received a renovation over the holidays and now looks good as new, and finally, over the coming weeks, a number of classrooms will receive a new coat of paint.

National Servicemen's Memorial

On Sunday 12 February, a group of our Years 6 leaders attended the National Servicemen's Memorial service in Central Park. Thank you to Isabella Barnden, Tristan Gursanscky, Eli Vannucci, Layla Follington, Tuleigh Lockeridge and Amelia Belson for representing Ben Venue and ensuring that the sacrifices made by conscripted men are not forgotten.
