Year 11 Retreat Day Reminder

As mentioned at the Year 11 Parent Information Evening, all Year 11 students will be involved in a Retreat Day. It will be one of the focal points of your son’s senior schooling at St Patrick’s College and the first event in the Senior Formation Program. Attendance and participation on the Retreat Day is a condition of your son’s enrolment at the College.

Therefore, all Year 11 students are expected to be involved. The aim of the Retreat Day is to provide students with a chance to think about and reflect on their various relationships, focusing on where they are headed as young men in the future. It is also a valuable opportunity for your son’s spiritual development as well as providing the chance for the cohort to come together in the experience.

The theme for the day is ‘The Spirituality of Men’.

Doing our bit to help – Clean Up Australia Day 2023

On Sunday 5 March, volunteers from the St Patrick’s College Community participated in the Clean Up Australia Day campaign around Strathfield and the College. The Clean Up Australia Day initiative started over 30 years ago, by an "average Australian" who had a simple idea to make a difference in his own backyard and has now become the nation's largest community-based environmental event.

After a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic and restrictions, we had an amazing turnout of 70 boys and teachers that helped to supervise. In small groups, the boys and teachers walked around the streets, armed with bags and gloves, looking for rubbish to collect and dispose of correctly.

Amazingly, the groups filled multiple large garbage bags with rubbish and other larger pieces of waste. We were so surprised by the amount of rubbish that a beautiful suburb like Strathfield had on its streets.

As a result of this successful clean up, the streets of Strathfield are cleaner. We hope that in future years, even more boys will join in on this important initiative.
