From the Head of Senior School

Mr Trent Chapman

Nod to our Student Leaders

Student leadership is not only essential for the development of the individual student, but also for the growth and success of the entire school community. Student leaders bring fresh perspectives and ideas to the table, which can lead to positive changes in school culture, policies and practices.

As former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard once said, "Student leadership is an essential part of school life. It gives young people the opportunity to develop leadership skills, build self-confidence, and play a role in shaping the culture of their school."

At Kinross Wolaroi, we are fortunate to have student leaders who are dedicated to promoting a positive culture and making a difference in the lives of their peers. From leading school assemblies and organising events, to volunteering in the community and advocating for important causes, our student leaders are truly making an impact.

Recently, our prefects gathered the Senior School for some much-needed singing practice for our Assembly and Chapel Services. It was lovely way to spend a ‘Fun Friday’ Wellbeing session and the response for all students was fantastic.

Additionally, our Year 11 Round Square leaders have been busy in their portfolios, raising interest, arranging activities, and promoting student voice within the school. They are overseeing the student committees representing the IDEALS of Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure and Service.

When students are given the opportunity to take ownership of their education and become leaders in their community, it benefits everyone involved. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our current school leaders for all they are doing to promote positive culture in our school. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and we are grateful for your contributions to our community.
