Parents & Friends Association

Caroline Ivey - Boarding Representative

As we all ease back into the rhythm of the school year it is lovely to hear reports of the new students settling into the school and forming new friendships.  The school has seen many new boarders start their Kinross Wolaroi journey.  A “meet and greet” was held at the start of term where the new boarders and parents received a warm welcome on a very wet miserable Orange summer’s day!  I am continually impressed by the cheerful, busy buzz of the boarding houses where lifelong memories and friendships are forged. As a boarder parent it is always heart-warming to see the boarders reconnect so happily when they return to school after the holidays.

The newly renovated girls boarding houses have been very well received and are being thoroughly enjoyed by the students as their “home away from home”.

The Senior School Icebreaker drinks held last Friday were a great success, providing a fantastic opportunity for new and old parents to connect and build friendships.  The evening was very well attended with close to 300 attendees, many parents travelling hours from home to be there.

Next up will be the Junior School Icebreaker this Friday from 6.30pm at the Green House Function Room of the Orange Ex-Services Club.

The Boarder Parent Drinks on 24 March will also provide further opportunity for new and returning boarder parents to reconnect and form new friends in the Kinross Wolaroi boarding community.

The next P& F meeting will be the AGM on 15 March.

Parents are invited to join the meetings either in person or via zoom - details below. New members are always welcome.  The zoom link to the P&F meetings enables boarder parents to also be active participants from afar.
