New School Nurse

Greetings from Jennifer

Hello! I am so happy to be a part of the fantastic team at NMPS!

I have received the warmest welcome from all the staff, students and families; and I am so excited to be on board with such a wonderful school!

My role at NMPS

I am here to support the students of NMPS through their journey of growth and view their development with a holistic approach; encompassing their physical, social, emotional and mental well-being into the care that I provide. I’m here to support the WHOLE family.

I will provide ongoing care management and to treat injuries and illnesses that are acquired during school hours. My goal is to send you home a happy and healthy child at the end of each day - and to ensure the safety and wellness of each and every student!

Does your child require medication or have a transient medical condition?

Please also keep in mind that If you have a child who has acquired a transient medical condition, or requires medication that needs to be administered throughout the school day, please inform the school so that I can assist your child as best I can.

Availability

Please don’t be shy if you wish to organise a time to come and discuss any concerns that you may have in your current family setting. I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this exciting journey ahead! I will be available by both email and phone throughout the week if you wish to reach me.

Elphinstone.Jennifer.L@edumail.vic.gov.au or phone the office on 9329 6902.

My role at NMPS should not be as a substitute for receiving care from your family GP.  I would like to reiterate, that by no means should I be the first point of call for any new medical conditions or concerns that you may have for your child. Your family GP is still the best place to go to continue your family’s general medical care.

My professional background

Professionally, I am a Registered Nurse and Midwife and have previously come from working within the hospital setting. My experience ranges from the very start of life during pregnancy and birth, all the way through to the early childhood years. My love for nursing definitely stems from my innate desire to care for people and make what might be a difficult situation into a positive one.
