Message from Principal Sally

Welcome to the 2020 school year.

We have had a  smooth start to a school year and I welcome new staff, students, parents, and carers to our 'Errol Street' community.

A fresh start at a new school or new year level can be met with excitement and trepidation. These feelings may be heightened after our challenging summer. Many world-wide events are still affecting our sense of well being. Please be aware if you notice your children becoming ‘overly anxious’ and take nurturing action.

I certainly felt scared even though I knew my family and I were safe whilst on holiday at Wilson's Promontory. This image is of east Gippsland full of smoke haze.

Air Quality Advice

As a result of the ongoing bushfires, there are community health concerns that schools and early childhood centres need to be aware of.

The Department is working with the Environment Protection Authority (EPA), which provides advice about the community health concerns, including poor air quality. The Department issues alerts to schools when there is a need to monitor air quality conditions.

North Melbourne Primary School follows this advice when necessary.
