Cathedral Ranges

On the 9th May the Year 10 Outdoor Education class set off on an overnight hike to the Cathedral ranges.  Once the class arrived at Ned Gully's camp site, we set up camp, erected tents and got ourselves ready for an afternoon hike up to the summit of Cathedral ridge.  After the hike we got a campfire going and cooked dinner on Trangia stoves.  After a cold night in the tents, we packed up camp, had breakfast, completed another hike and set off back to school for clean up.  Well done to everyone involved in the hike.

NGV Studio Arts Excursion

On Friday 10th May, Year 11 and 12 students from Studio Arts visited NGV at Fed Square to view the International Art Collection.  The NGV Collection contains approximately 70,000 works of art spanning thousands of years, from the art of ancient civilisations through to the latest in contemporary art, reflecting a multitude of different disciplines, periods and styles.   It was a fantastic display of art, inspiring our young and talented students.

Wilsons Prom Student Review

"On Thursday 16th May, the VCAL Outdoor Ed students set off on a hike in Wilsons Promontory National Park. After a stressful night of putting everything we need into 1 bag we arrived in the morning ready and rearing to go. We had a long bus ride before arriving at Telegraph Saddle Carpark, about to embark on a 10km hike. It was uncomfortable at first walking with the packs, but we settled in and enjoyed the walk into Sealers Cove. We arrived right on low tide, which meant our river crossing was only calf depth. The evening consisted of setting up camp, exploring Sealers Cove, cooking dinner on Trangia and getting overran by possums. After a cold evenings sleep we were up at the crack of dawn ready to do it all again. We packed up camp, crossed the river (knee depth this time unfortunately) and trekked back to the bus. On the way home we stopped off for some well earned junk food before returning safely to school."
