Art Show 2019

We are very excited to announce that the 2019 Art Show will be called ‘Colours of the World’ and has been planned in accordance with both the Visual Arts and the Geography Curriculum for each level. Each Year level will be studying an area from around the world. I have included my overview of continents and countries below.

Please note that students will investigate two countries from my list in their classrooms in Term 3 in their Geography unit.

Art Show Title: Colours of the World

Overview of the theme: The world is full of diverse landscapes, people and cultures. Humans have adapted to life in a variety of ways in these places. We can explore our world in many ways and compare what other cultures and landscapes look like in relation to our own.

Year 6	Asia	Japan, Russia, China

Please note students will work on some Italian Art during Italian classes.

From now until the art show, students will be immersed in a rich program of art, learning about various cultures from around the globe. Students will work on 4 individual pieces to be displayed on the night and one class collaborative piece which will be auctioned to the school community on the art show night. Please note that this year the student portfolios will not be sold to parents for fundraising and will be given to students at the end of the year. There will be some exciting changes to the format of the night so stayed tuned for further information.
