Spotlight on SEAL  & VHAP

Spotlight on SEAL Program and the Victorian High Ability Program (VHAP) Event 2021

On August 18th our school community came together to share the highlights of our SEAL and VHAP programs. Thank you to the students who were invited to share their experiences and reflections on the high challenge programs they are engaged in. It was really wonderful to see how positively they responded to the invite to present and to hear about their experiences.

Thank you to Jamie Katic (8B), Laura Wong (7B), Aditya Reddycharla (8B) and Nicholas Jiang (7G) for presenting with confidence and also for offering their time after school to be involved.

Jamie Katic is in both the SEAL class and the VHAP Program. Here is an excerpt from Jamie’s presentation:

‘The best part about this VHAP course would be the different challenges that we students must overcome together. Getting to solve problems and share opinions with similar students from other schools has been a great experience. Even after the session is over, there is still plenty of further studies you can undertake in your free time. This program is great for providing us students with the opportunities we seek. Giving us a chance to dig deeper into the topics we have been learning and expand our knowledge on different subjects with all the homework and extension tasks that have been posted has been very beneficial for our learning.’

Aditya Reddycharla 8B reflected on his experience in the SEAL program:

‘This is my second year in SEAL. Today I will be sharing with you my experiences of being in the SEAL class. So far being in SEAL has played a big role in my time in high school.
We do work that is one year ahead for our age for the four core subjects which are Humanities, Science, English and Maths. The benefit of being in the SEAL class is that you work to your full potential. It makes the subjects you excel in even more fun. In every subject, you are also expected to do better since you are in the SEAL class which has motivated me to try even harder.’

Thank you to all the parents, guardians, students and teachers who attended the event and celebrated the efforts and achievements of our students in these programs.
