Body Image and Anxiety study

Macquarie University is currently carrying out a study regarding body image and anxiety in adolescents aged 12-17.  It involves tele-health assessment and referral options.  If you would like more information, please contact the psychologist on your child’s campus.

Opt In, Up Skill Workshops

On Friday 3 September Clemes students will be given the opportunity to participate in a range of opt in workshops. These range from full day externally run formal qualifications, to 90 minute workshops. The sessions are designed to assist students with their transition from school as well as their current wellbeing and academic program. This coincides with TCE Moderation Day and no formal classes will run on this day at Clemes.

There are two ways students can participate:

  • Option 1 - participate in a full day course to gain a formal qualification. Students will be required to sign up prior to the session, may have to complete some pre-reading (e.g. for Provide First Aid) and will need to pay for the session. Parents/ Guardians will receive a Operoo form to complete.
  • Option 2 - participate in the short opt in courses (running between 1.5 - 2 hours). Students will need to participate in 2 of the 3 sessions. The session they have no formal workshop will be a study period. We encourage students to choose at least one up-skilling session as well as either a practical or service based option. Some teachers may suggest students  'opt in' to a subject specific session.

Some sessions have a maximum capacity and students will need to consider a back up option.

Students are asked to make their selections via the Google Form shared via email this week by Friday 20 August. Please contact Amy Harris if you have any queries.

In an effort to help inform students about possible preparation, three of our year 12 students have agreed to share their experience with year 11 students. The session will be next Friday, 27 August at lunchtime. Year 11s will be given full details.
