Reminder: Father's Day Afternoon on the Green

Students along with their dad, guardian, grandfather or special family friend are warmly invited to spend time together at our Father's Day on the Green event. 

 

Saturday 4 September  |  from 1pm to 3pm

The Friends' School, Argyle Street Campus - Lower Green

 

This is a free event (however, bookings are essential)

  • Families are invited to meet from 1pm to enjoy the activities including a bouncing castle and giant lawn games.
  • Espresso coffee, doughnuts and fresh fruit will be available throughout the afternoon.

Due to the current public health situation and for catering purposes, we do require you to RSVP to this event by Tuesday 31 August, if not sold out. Please use the booking link below to confirm your attendance as numbers will be limited to ensure we follow correct COVID-19 protocols.

Composition Club

The Composition Club will next meet on Friday 20 August from 4pm to 6pm in The Farrall Centre and our guest composer will be Launceston-based musician, Karlin Love

 

Students wishing to attend are asked to register using this form

 

Composition Club is open to students from Years 5 to 12 who wish to compose music with the assistance of a recognised local composer.

Quaker Meetings for Worship

All members of The Friends’ School community are welcome to attend our Meeting for Worship any Sunday from 10.00am, closing about 11.00am, with morning tea available afterwards.

 

Children are always welcome and there is a Children’s Meeting held concurrently with the Meeting for Worship. They learn about Quaker values through a range of interesting and fun activities. Around 10.50am the children join the Meeting for Worship, settling into the gathered Meeting for the last 10 minutes, usually sitting with their parents.

Thursday Morning Meeting for Worship

Members of The Friends' School community are welcome to attend a short Meeting for Worship held each Thursday morning during term time, starting at 7.45am. Just come quietly in when you can and join us until 8.20am in the Hobart Quaker Meeting House, which is located just below the Clemes office on Boa Vista Road.

Community Yoga

All members of the School community are welcome to join us in The Farrall Centre on Wednesdays from 7.45 - 8.15am during term time. Energise your body, calm your mind and inspire your day. These sessions are taught by Julia Gibson.
