Financial Support for Families
Ocean Grove Primary School understands that some families may experience financial difficulty and offers a range of support options. Roles and responsibilities of parents/guardians
- Notify school of their child's allergies and provide appropriate medical information.
- Ensure that the school is notified of changes to the child's medical condition or emergency contact details.
- Provide an ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis completed by the child's doctor or nurse practitioner.
- Provide an adrenaline autoinjector clearly labelled with child's name to the school. Some upper primary and high school students choose to carry their adrenaline autoinjector on their person, and this is documented in their Individual Anaphylaxis Management Plan.
- Provide any other medication indicated on the child's ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis and ensure that it is in date.
- Promptly replace the child's adrenaline autoinjector if it is used or out-of-date.
- Provide an updated ASCIA Action Plan for Anaphylaxis after a change in the health condition of the child, through annual (or as required) reviews by a medical practitioner or after an allergic reaction.
- Assist school staff in planning and preparation for the student prior to school camps, field trips, excursions or special events (e.g. class parties, cultural days, fetes or sport days). Supply alternative food options for the student when needed (If applicable).
- Educate the child about their allergies and how to minimise the risk of exposure (such as not sharing food if allergic to food, or taking precautions when outdoors if allergic to insects).
Second hand uniform items
A reminder — we have second hand uniform available to anyone, here in the office, at low cost.

Just a reminder when returning notes and money to school please ensure that your child's name and grade is clearly labelled and that money and notes are enclosed in an envelope and or zip lock bag for safe delivery to school and the office.

Anaphylaxis and Asthma Update
Please ensure that your child’s Anaphylaxis and or Asthma Plan is up to date and that the school office and current 2021 teacher has a copy of this updated plan.
Please Note: It is extremely important that these records are updated yearly.
Sentral Permission Notes (Non-Payment)
Presently we are trialing permission notes with NO PAYMENT to be sent out via Sentral Parent Portal. You should receive an email notifying you that there is a new permission request for an activity. You will need to first login to your Sentral Parent portal app, up the top you will see a 'Portal Version 2' Click on that and down the left hand side you will see your child's name, click on the name and the activity permission slip will appear.

End of Day Student Messages
Just a reminder if possible if you have a message for your child/ren for the end of the day could you please phone the office before 3:00pm. This will allow us to keep the classroom interruptions to a minimum. We do however understand that on some occasions this is not possible. We would greatly appreciate your assistance with this process.
Student Absences
An SMS notification will be sent to the primary family member’s mobile number at approximately 9:30am each school morning if your child/children are not at school and their absence is unexplained.
Please make sure that you call the school or enter your child’s/children’s absence through the SENTRAL Parent Portal app, prior to 9am on the day of their absence, to ensure you do not receive the text unnecessarily.
If you have a holiday planned please make sure you notify both the admin office and classroom teacher prior to your departure.
