St Brigid's News & Events
(Quokka by Emerson)
News from 1/2B
This week in 1/2B we have been celebrating Book Week! We have been exploring a different shortlisted book each day and creating a piece of work in response to each book.
‘Busy Beaks’
On Wednesday, we read ‘Not Cute’ by Phillip Bunting. We found out quokkas LOVE taking selfies, so we completed a guided drawing and added in a drawing of ourselves taking a selfie with our very cute quokkas. Finally, we wrote some interesting facts about quokkas.
On Thursday we celebrated Crazy Hair Day. Take a look at our wacky hair creations!
Sending a special shout out to all of the students and families in 1/2B. You have all been working so hard and should be very proud of everything you are doing in remote learning.

Even though students are learning remotely, have a look at the results from our pumpkin experiment the Wellbeing Representatives started back into Term 2.
Family Nature Bingo Challenge
Next week all students will be provided access to the Family Nature Bingo Challenge. This bingo game can help you care for yourselves and discover nature.
Spy on an insect, reminisce about a previous bushwalk or find shapes in the clouds.
See if you can complete 5 in a row (across, up and down or diagonally) or all of these nature based activities and submit your matches to familyweek@sbmord.catholic.edu.au.
Visual Arts

RE News
From the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne
A newly commissioned artwork of Australia’s first saint was recently unveiled and blessed at the Catholic Parish of St Mary of the Cross, Mordialloc and Aspendale. With the help of the parish livestreaming team, Fr Andrew Jekot hosted the blessing online. ‘The plans were to have a blessing of the artwork after every Mass on the weekend of Mary’s feast day,' said Fr Jekot. 'But COVID doesn't follow my rules! So, our next attempt was to bring the blessing to parishioners online so they could view this absolutely gorgeous image of St Mary of the Cross.’
Please see the links to the full article and the recording of the blessing.
