Sport Report

The second half of this term has been busy and successful for interschool sport and an enjoyable time for all involved. There has been intermediate and Year 8 interschool sport held, where we had a number of teams place 2nd and 3rd, however not quite good enough for 1st place (never mind).

Another interschool sporting competition was the Beachside Division swimming carnival, which was held at Oakleigh Recreation Centre. Glen Eira had over 30 students represent the school in the carnival with some fantastic results. We saw Felix Dressel-De Bruyn of Year 8 win the boys 14 years 50m Backstroke and 50m Butterfly, Alexander Tari of Year 7 win the Boys 13 years 50m Backstroke, Soleha Foret of Year 8 win the Girls 14 years 50m Backstroke and four Year 7 boys win the boys 13 year 4x 50m Freestyle relay. Congratulations to these students and we wish them all the best for the regional finals. To all of the large number of students who placed 2nd and 3rd in their events, well done to them as well. The school overall came 3rd at the swimming carnival against nine other schools, which is a terrific result!
