League Tag

The Northwest Region Girls  League Tag Finals were played at Gwydir Oval in Bingara on Wednesday 30 August. The Under 14 girls were undefeated on the day, taking out their division, while in the Opens, the girls drew with Bundarra to become joint winners. 

All girls played with great sportsmanship and teamwork and should be proud of their success. 

Thank you to Mrs Tanya Laird for her enthusiasm with the Under 14 side. 

Opens team: Alina Swan, Annabelle Pegus, Breanna Williams, Dakota Skewes, Grace Salter, Isabella Thrupp, Laura Robertson, Madison Sharp, Madison Roach, Miah O'Sullivan, Mykenzie Semple, Phoebe McLoughlin, Rosie Ferguson, Sophie Barr and Tyla Endemi.

Under 14s: Aalinyah Smith, Abbegale Ryan, Anika Earsman, Chole Shanley, Holly Bynge, Jada Taylor, Macy Gillies, Olivia Whittemore, Phoebe Porter, Sienna O'Mally and Sophie Corbett.

Secondary Schools' Oztag Regional Championships

On Thursday 31 August, McCarthy Catholic College competed in the Secondary School Oztag Regional Championships in Tamworth. McCarthy entered four teams - Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys and Senior Girls. 

Both boys' teams had good days to make it through to the semi finals, but were unfortunate to lose their matches and were knocked out. The McCarthy girls' teams remained undefeated throughout the day and won their respective Grand Finals. 

All teams showed great enthusiasm and skill, as well as good sportsmanship. They should all be commended.

Senior Girls: Alina Swan, Annabelle Pegus, Billie Mitchell, Isabella Thrupp, Krystal Booby, Laura Robertson, Madison Roach, Miah O'Sullivan, Millah Green, Mykenzie Semple, Phoebe McLoughlin and Tyla Endemi.

Senior Boys: Cameron Lane, Ethan Russell, Jim Zell, Liam Ball, Nathan Watson, Nicholas Pannowitz, Oscar Dietrich, Tom Ferguson, Tom Lange, Tom Sheppard and Zeus Souter.
