Prayer and Reflection

Prayer  for Peace

O God of many names,

lover of all nations.

We pray for peace

in our hearts,

in our homes,

in our nations,

in our world.

The peace of your will.

The peace of our need.

Amen.

Staff Spiritual Retreat

On Monday 28 August, a small group of staff participated in a spiritual retreat entitled “Present and Faithful in My Relationships", run by Anne Finlayson from the CSO Renewal Team. The focus for our discussion and reflection was the challenge posed to our being present in relationships and interactions with others made by mobile phones and photo technology.  Our reflection led to acknowledging that each one of us has the responsibility to those we are in relationship with, to listen to them, make eye contact with them, to be present to their need and their demands on our time. A reading of John 21:15-18 clarified our understanding of the nature of our responsiveness in relationships. In this passage, Jesus guides Peter in his relationship with God by reminding him of the constancy to be present to the needs of the Church and “to feed [His] sheep”.

Year 12

During Week 9, two special occasions will be celebrated with our outgoing Year 12 cohort. The first of these is the Twilight Retreat on Monday evening (11 September) from 5:00pm – 9:30pm. And the second is the Thanksgiving Mass which will take place on Wednesday evening (13 September) at 6:00pm at St Nicholas’ Church. All are most welcome.

Condolences

Our thoughts and prayers go to Emma Dumble and family following the passing of their grandmother and to Liam Thompson and family following the passing of their grandfather.
