Messages

Dear Families,

We trust that you and your families had a wonderful break and that Easter gave you a chance to gather with families and friends to remember the Easter message of hope and renewal.

Term two promises to be another busy term filled with many opportunities for our students to investigate, explore and learn.  We encourage all families to continue to check the school calendar and the 'Dates' published in the Bulletin and Newsletter so that you are all aware the many different things that are happening throughout the term.

We welcome back Simon Millar and Julianne Price who were both on leave at the end of Term 1. They have returned to us with a renewed energy and many stories to tell us about their experiences away.

We welcome two new staff members to the Galilee community this term. Maree Santamaria is joining us as a Learning Support Officer. She comes to us with a wealth of experience. Maree will be with us on Monday and Wednesday. Trent Janz will be our new guitar teacher. Trent has experience as a music  teacher at Vocal Arts Studio and Music School. He will be working with students during individual guitar lessons on Monday and Tuesday. We know that Maree and Trent will enhance our already wonderful community at Galilee.

Peace and Blessings,

Amy Burns and Danielle Gerecke

Deputy Principals

Issue 3 of Book Club is out now. All orders must be in by the 1st May. All orders are to be placed through the Loop App, available at the App Store and Google play. No cash orders will be accepted.

First Communion Faith Night

A First Communion Faith night has been organised for Grade 4 students who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Eucharist for the first time. The Faith Night will give students and their families an opportunity to learn about the Sacrament of First Communion and work as a family on different tasks to enhance their understandings. We look forward to seeing our Grade 4 students and their parents at the First Communion Faith Night on Wednesday 26th at 6:30pm in the Galilee School Hall.

School Uniform

A reminder that students can wear either summer uniform or winter uniform next week.  From Monday 1st May all students will be required to wear winter uniform.  If your child is out of uniform, please inform the class teacher via email or written note, with an explanation.  School hats are not required to be worn until Term 4.

Head Lice

There have been a few reports of head lice through the week. Please check and treat your children if you suspect they may have lice.

Punctuality

Please remember to have children at school by 8.50am to minimise distractions to other students and to maximise their learning. If arriving after 8.50am, students must be signed in at the school office before entering their classroom.
