From the Principal

Into The Woods

Congratulations to the students, staff and families involved in last week’s outstanding production of ‘Into the Woods’. The talent and dedication of our students was complemented by our highly professional staff.  I would also like to acknowledge the Friends of Music and Drama (FOMAD) for their contribution to the success of the production.

I have had the pleasure of attending many school productions over the years but I have never seen a performance at this level. We were thrilled to acknowledge Director Mr George Tsakisiris, staff involved, the talented Cast, Crew and Musicians at assembly this week.

Use Of Social Media

Our new Marketing and Communications Manager, Mr Chris Richards-Scully has been busy revamping a number of our communication forums in the past few months. In particular, we are promoting Social Media as one mechanism to engage with our wider College community.

Mr Richards-Scully has provided the following brief summary:

‘Our College Facebook page allows our community to keep up to date with activities at the College, news, events, Alumni news and the occasional video.  The Instagram page has been embraced by our staff, who are enjoying sharing the vibrant daily life at the College.

Our Twitter page will be used for instant news, updates from sporting carnivals or other events and another way to get instant messages out to our community.

We understand that not everyone in our community will be using all the social media channels, but by providing them we hope members of our community will discover their preference.

John XXIII College expects that our families’ online behavior reflects the same standards of respect, consideration, responsibility and maturity that are required when communicating in person.  Please ‘Like’, ‘Share’ and ‘Follow’; tell all your friends and watch as the John XXIII story continues to grow’.

Together, let us seek justice.

Yours sincerely
