Festival of the Word 2018

Prose v Performance

Let the battle begin!

Our English students are putting their talents on display and they want YOU to be there!

It’s time again for Festival of the Word, which celebrates all things English … reading, writing, speaking, listening, viewing, representing, performing and creating.

In a special treat, this year we will also be celebrating the intrinsic connection between English and Drama! That’s right – our wonderful Drama students will perform on the night creating a battle for the ages - Prose V Performance.

Students from Year 7 through to Year 11 will be performing, presenting and displaying their work this Tuesday, December 4th at 6:30pm in the MCC Drama Room.

From 6.00pm in the Drama Courtyard, you can admire displays and watch clips from some of our junior English units this year.

Then from 6:30pm, the show begins in the Drama Room. Here we will be showcasing on-stage skills, with student written plays and speeches from Year 10 students. You will also witness an original Mockumentary, a number of creative commercials from our Year 10’s, and the third annual Great MCC Spelling Bee. In addition, for the first time, we have Year 9 and 10 Drama students performing a range of humorous and interactive skits, culminating in the 2018 Shakespearean Insults Grand Final: Prose V Performance.

And don’t forget to collect your ticket for the lucky door prize! – A free voucher to Griffith Regional Theatre!!!

So come and join us as we round off the year with a celebration of the Word!
